What is a high-speed tubular centrifuge?
High-speed tubular centrifuges are used to separate the smallest particles from fermenter suspensions. The suspension is fed into the rotor from below while the centrifuge is running. Components are stratified in the rotor according to their density – liquid is continuously discharged via the discharge trays, while solids remain in the rotor and are harvested manually.
CEPA tubular centrifuges are available in multiple versions: basic cast housing, GMP-compliant stainless steel (GP), explosion-proof (GP ex), and with CIP cleaning (GE).
Industries and uses
High-speed tubular centrifuges serve a wide range of applications in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and chemistry.
Pharmaceuticals
Clarification of APIs, blood fractionation, and concentration of vaccines and therapeutic proteins. GMP-compliant versions available.
Chemical
Separation and clarification of fine chemicals, catalysts and nanoparticles. Resistant materials for aggressive media.
Virus & bacteria concentration
Concentration and extraction of viruses and bacteria for vaccine production and research applications.
Liquid-liquid separation
Separation of two immiscible liquids with different densities into separate collection trays.
Biotechnology
Separation of cells, bacteria and microorganisms from fermentation broths. Ideal for E.coli harvesting and cell recovery.
